Tears trace their way
down my cheeks,
As I am left alone again,

I stumble up the stairs
to my empty room,
Yet inside I feel strength,

While the water works
find their end,
Inside I still feel like it's never ending,

I am less insecure,
less unloved,
But still alone and pending,

Pending my encounter
with a gentle soul,
To take away the feeling I'm alone,

Awaiting the day they return
with more love and kindness,
With arms that feel like home,

My heart is all a flutter
with thoughts of our next encounter,
Praying for our next meeting to be tomorrow,
