Faded Away

by MissSideways   Jun 30, 2005

The car lights quickly faded
into the darkened night
The 4-year-old stood crying
and held her teddy tight

So many different questions
the baby prayed alone
'God I ask just one thing.
Please bring my mummy home.'

The weeks turned into months.
The months turned into years
Beneath the shabby covers
her pillows drenched in tears

Each morning she would wake up
and run through every room
screaming 'mummy said she'd be here.
My mummy's coming soon!'

Although her mother beat her
the baby couldn't bare
To think she'd live forever
without a mother there

But then the baby wondered...
goodbye is not forever?
maybe in the future
we can sweetly be together!!

The 4-year-old was dying
sat, desperate, by the phone
But still the days kept passing
and mum did not come home...

I guess she never saw me
soaked in rain and tears
She NEVER saw me crumbling
for 16 fü¢ķen years

As those car lights faded
without the need to say...
The baby died so slowly
when mummy ran away

God Bless, luv Dani xoxo
