Lonely Nights

The nights are cold and lonely
Without you by my side
I sit and stare out the window
Praying for the light

Sleep doesn't ease my pain
Noth without you here
I know you told me not to cry
But each night I cry a single tear

Being away from you at night
Is killing me inside
I try so hard to stay strong
But the pain I cannot hide

The last thing I used to hear
Before I drifted off to sleep
Was you telling me you loved me
And looking in your eyes so deep

Now sleep is but a memory
It will not come without you
I am exhausted all the time
And I don't know what to so

I look forward to the night
You are again holding me tight
But until then I will sit
And pray for the light
