The open window

by samiee   Jul 1, 2005

There once was a window,
that sat above the pane.
when the children looked out it,
and watched the soothing rain.

when they are sleepy,
the rain will soon be slow.
and upon the little faces,
there will be a little glow.

the little girls will run out,
with their boots and hats.
while the little boys,
run out with their balls and bats.

happy in play,
with love and cheer.
while dancing and singing,
their mothers they hear.

they say they dont hear,
they dont want to listen.
with the loud yelling,
and their smiles a glisten.

they hear their mother,
once and twice.
then they hurry away,
like dozens of mice.

their mothers come out,
with such a fit.
they aren't so afraid,
not even a bit.

but then they obey,
so they wont get in trouble.
they slowly go away,
like a little tiny bubble.

but inside on the walls,
there is a wall full of love.
and soon the walls become alive,
with a little flutter of a dove.

then one and two,
they all soon come to be.
her will be singing,
and the many dances of he.

the kids come in,
they are all tired and want sleep.
when they see the on and only dancing,
they dont make a peep.

for they, they hear,
they singing of love.
on that one rainy day,
of that one singing dove.
