Death for Immortality

by marilyn marti   Jul 2, 2005

Cynicism you pull from under your skin
as the sun tears at it
You are pulled underneath like they pulled you within
the sun burns all of it

The water you drown in as soon as you breathe
The demons hold you underwater
trying to kill you
you gasp and you feel

you feel you are dying once again
no, you're not immortal
not again

but the blood! there is blood
and it drips to your feet
don't pull it don't touch it
you're ready to sink

you sink, you're down
the sun can no longer burn you
your scarce, you are lost
the blade can no longer hurt you,
no more.
