But You Wont Awake

by Richard   Jul 2, 2005

The unloved child
Who wears the crown of hate.
Stop your weeping,
before you get headaches.

Don't look out into the night,
and search out every single year.
For a friend who isn't there
there isn't anyone Alex.

Every time you close your eyes.
You will still be here
Every time you try and hide
They will still find you.

Heres the sun,
you are awake
Heres the moon,
stay in bed.

Heres the summer,
its hot not wet,
On Halloween,
don't play dead

They taunt, and petrify.
you'll form illusions and utilize.
yet you awake screaming.
it's OK, don't be scared

I am here,
your angel of dreams.
I'm your friend,
and your foe.

If you want it,
I can give it
death in a dream,
but you won't awake.

when the time is right,
and there's really nothing to lose,
I'll grant your wish.
but for now just go to sleep.

I tried this whole free verse thing i hope tis all right lol um this poem i wrote about my dear couzin alex he was always msitreated by family and friends even me but i was just a kid like 7 or 8 and i dont remember much but i do remmeber like times he cried at night and stuff and couple months ago he almsot died from a car hitting him but the strange thing was he always was close to death or near missing it i duno mahbe he did things on puirpose or something was granting as wish?

It was wild and a rather dark poem to me. Very different from my usual preference.
