Misery's End

by Chrissy   Jul 3, 2005

A distant tortured soul
Lost from the start
A constant aching pain
Of a battered, broken heart
Shattered dreams
Left on the bedside table
Full of false hope
A simple childish fable
Devoted to death
Consumed by misery
A world of emptiness
An inability to see
Ignorance through bliss
Twisted thoughts overrun
Possibilities fade away
Daily chores left undone
Scars still exist
Inside and out
Uncertainty remains
Fulfilled by constant doubt
Radiant fire inside
Extinguished by rain
Intensity rises
One moment insane
Sincerity seeps through
Teardrops stream down
Insecurity takes hold
Clothed in a hospital gown
Deprived of all rights
Desperately wanting to be free
Clinging to hope
Without true possibility
Nonexistent desires
Still yearning for death
Awaiting the moment
To take the last breath
Cautiously planned
Peacefulness from within
Taking one final glance
At what could have been
A tortured soul from the start
Never again to pretend
Accomplished the goal
Tranquil sleep in the end
