A Battle Of Regret

by Lydie   Jul 3, 2005

The shadow creeps along the ground,
The soul, waiting to be found,
It was lost in a battle long ago,
Now it's soul, it does not show,

A battle like a flood,
People in cold blood,
Come for the kill,
Out of their free will,

It doesn't matter if they didn't die,
Their souls leave a mournful cry,
Because they killed some,
Now they wish they had not come,

So they will go straight to hell,
Some of those have already fell,
The wrong thing to do,
If only they knew,

The battle may be done,
They may have won,
But their swords and shields are worn,
So soon they will mourn,

And I hope their blood will seep,
Through the holes cut so deep,
Not only the outer holes, the ones they hide,
The ones they have left inside,

I hope they die and wilt,
From all of their guilt,
After all, they deserve this agony,
From the pain and all of the misery,

But no, they continued to fight,
With all their power and ll their might,
Innocent people received pain,
So their awfulness shall remain,

Stay there in their hearts made of ice,
For they too, should have to pay the price,
It'll teach them a lesson, one not to forget,
The battle of which they now regret.

very well written...this is a very good peice, however, all the rhyming kind of got old...so maybe try to hold it down to every other line unless you can get it to flow smoother than it did...otherwise, nice job! keep it up!
