Her 18th Birthday

by SoupErHereOh   Jul 3, 2005

Leah, it is your birthday
You are 18 today
It is time to blow out your candles
Hurry, we have silly games to play

It is just like old times
We have to chase Kyle and give him a kiss
It is times like these
I really do miss

Climb up the tree
Just like when you turned 10
The only difference now is
You will not come down again

Let me tell everyone the story of Leah
See, Leah got fed up with being told
Who she can and can not be friends with
To her, it was simply getting old

So, she decided one day
To end her life
She was going to use her father's gun
But instead she used a rusty knife

With one swipe of that blade
Her wristed started bleeding
Soon after that
Her soul started leaving

She was only 17
And her smile so captivating
She was so beautiful
Nobody came close to rating

But she made a mistake
She took her life
Now since she did this,
I am forced to live in strife

How will I live without her?
See, I can feel my heart
Starting to slowly break, I just can not live
For she carries part

Why am I in so much pain?
You may ask
She was my best friend
But I guess that is the past

I will never forget her
Best friends that were meant to be
She will live in my heart
As I carry on.. in misery
