If She Was Yours

by Augusta   Jul 4, 2005

It finally occured to me
That I might not be "The One".
And that a meaningless 'ex'
Is all that I've become.

Is that the way YOU felt
When I made up my mind to keep her?
That my superficial fling
Became something so much deeper...

When you figured out my heart
You will now have to share.
Whether just her or them both,
Does it hurt that they're there?

Does a part of you wonder
Behind all of your closed doors
How different our lives would be
If my baby had been yours?

Or did you ever find it strange
That for him I never shed a tear?
Or that I never dwell on my luck
Although things are still unclear.

Cause the truth is that I adore her
She's my favorite mistake...
And losing you, my only love
Well, life is what you make.

And over time I will adjust,
I'll get over my great loss.
And I'll love my burden all I can,
Ans bear her like my cross.

This one hit home and brought tears to my eyes.

I emailed it to my EX! The one who was the one!
