A Pool of Pain

by Casey Adams   Oct 28, 2003

I walk into the bathroom
and quickly lock the door
Fill the bath with water
Throw my clothes on the floor.

I step into the water
With the blade in my hand
My body starts to tremble
I sit; I cannot stand.

The water starts to burn me
Evaporate my fears
Ripples show on surface
Imprints of my tears.

I hold the blade to my wrist
and force a painful slice
Blood gushes from my veins
Happy to do it twice.

But twice turns into triple
Triple turns into more
I carved scars into my arm
My skin I really tore.

From little droplets of red
To a bath fill with blood
Fear to sudden panic
My feelings were a flood.

My very last emotion
My mouth was in a frown
Overdosed by weakness
Give up to slowly drown.

another wonderful piece of work. and as before, shows great maturity. the awakening in the last verse is heartbreaking. the weakness not from the draining of the blood but a realisation that you've been beaten to give up the fight. that's my take anyways. great work Casey! looking forward to more from you. :)
