We were happy, well to start
But things started to fall apart
I fell out of love, it hurt me too
But i knew exactly what i had to do
I told him, he was hurt i know
But his hurt he refused to show
I gave him a hug and asked if he was still a friend

I was happy i told him, and he was so great
We were still friends and i lifted the weight
A couple of weeks on i found a new guy
To put that sparkle back in my eye
I told my ex first, i thought he deserved to know

My life seemed to be really good
But all i thought i miss understood
his mum phoned me later, crying down the phone
saying \\\' my baby\\\'s gone, i\\\'m all alone\\\'
I said \\\'whats he\\\'s ran away?\\\'
She said \\\' no he\\\'s in heaven to stay\\\'
I dropped down the phone, ran to his home
Found his mum sat all alone
She passed me a letter with my name at the top
I thought my heart was going to stop
I looked at it then looked at her
Her eyes glazed over with a blur
I knew what i read she read the same
I knew she had me to blame
The letter said
Dear Sam
I know i said we could still be friends
But when i saw you with him my life did end
I say your eyes sparkle, your smile did shine
I just wished those features were still mine
So i ended my hurt, my soul my life
I ended it all with the touch of a knife
So remember i love you my honey my darling
Dont you ever cry keep that smile shining
But when you look to sky, when you look above
I never died for anything less than the feeling of your love
