Page After Page

by Fighter (Ariane L.)   Jul 6, 2005

Pages of my diary lie in front of me.
Pages and pages of poems.
My life, my past, the pain,
All withheld within this diary.

My entire past locked within this diary.
Locked from the world.
Closed from prying eyes.
Closed to all who don't have the key.

All the pain, all the anger,
All the sadness, all the questions
Written page after page.
Beneath the book's cover.

Yet, as I hold my past.
Bottled up anger releases,
As I tear page after page.
Incapable of holding myself back.

I stare down at my book.
Shattered and broken into pieces.
Secrets of my past.
My life that everyone mistook.

I watch the fire lick away my past.
Memories are all that are left.
My entire life, destroyed.
Shattered like broken glass.

As the fire slowly fades before me.
I stare at the burnt remains.
A smile forms on my lips.
For I am finally free...
