You promised you’d never make me cry
Told me that you loved me and you’d never say goodbye
I truly believed you and I never had a doubt
Then you told me that things weren’t working out

I didn’t realize what I had until the day you went
I told you that I loved you and that is what I meant
Words are nothing to you, you throw them around the place
But to me your words are knives that bleed water down my face

Finally I realized that you weren’t worth the fight
I told my best friend you would hurt her and in the end I was right
I tried to move on but something is still holding onto you
I don’t know what it is but it all leads back to you

It’s been almost a year now and your name comes up again
I see your face and it all comes rushing back then
You wrap your arms around me, I close my eyes and fall
Right back in love with you and I have no say at all

I have a boyfriend but I don’t see it going very far
It felt nice to forget you and let you slip under the radar
But I’ll never forget you because you’re always in my head
And I still think about you at night as I la down m head

Every though leads back to you even when I’m with this guy
Even though you left me I never got a chance to say goodbye
I don’t know if I’ll ever to able to be with someone new
