Yes, you're right on. The necklace was a gift; given with the promise of infinite love. The removal of it does symbolize the angry attempt to recover from the heartache, although unsuccessful. Very powerful, rather feel that physical pain than one of heartache. It’s quite descriptive and metaphorical. Great poem, I too added you as one of my favs. I'm sure I'll learn something from you. The necklace I assume from her lover, of whom seems to have left her in some way, was a major part in this poem. I guess she wants to be over her but can't seem to, even now, let go being so uncertain of what to believe now. Uh, based on the lines: |
