Darkness rose,
It stole my soul,
It stole you from me like a doll,
Darkness rose,
And starved the world,
And so to hide hegdehogs curled,
You died in my arms that very night,
I couldn't shed a tear at the sight,
Just stared at the sky,
With hatred in my eyes,
Began to whisper "Why, God why?"
Suddenly I turned cold,
Laid in your arms while I did hold,
Your frozen fingers, Your bleeding hands,
Knowing there were others over sea, over land,
I still love you,
I hope you see,
Everything you've done for me,
Made me stronger,
Helped me last longer,
You died that very night,
In my presence I wanted to fight,
Or questiong the motives of God,
"why?"
Why did he choose you to die?
