London - 7/7/05

On the news,
In newspapers,
You read of unfortunate events taking place everyday.
You never think it will happen to you,
So you take your life for granted,
The people in it, the objects,
Until one day you lose it all in the blink of an eye.

Watching TV I sighed with boredom,
It then froze.
A news bulletin appeared and I assumed it was about yesterday.
That day full of happiness and joy.
Seeing the headlines,
"London Blast" caught my eye.
Bombs exploding, terror arising,
Innocent people losing their lives,
Many injured.
Feeling sick with frustration,
Fighting back my tears of rage.
Questions going round in my head,
Why do this?
Who could do this?
Who could live with this guilt?
Who could look at their reflection in the mirror after this?

Families crying,
Wanting to know if their loved ones are safe.
I want to help,
But I feel I can't do a thing.
All I know I can do to overcome this ordeal is to pray.
Ask God to look after the victims,
Reunite lost families,
Give them all strength to fight.
Help the government find the answers they need.

All the joys and happiness of yesterday now faded,
Replaced with today,
A day of anger and sadness.
Watching the news for constant updates,
Each minute the death toll rising.
People asking questions,
Their minds confused.

Today started off like any normal day,
But little did we know how that was going to change.

*As you all have probably heard, London encountered a terrorist attack today. So many people were injured/lost their lives. Its made me realize how truly special life is and not to waste it. This world we live in is so screwed up. May God be with all the families and victims of this tragedy. xXx*
