The Path

Waiting here,
for my heart to tell me which way to go
Do I go back down the dark road I came from,
Or follow a new path I do not know.

If I go back,
down the dark and lonely path
I will only get lost in the coldness
that he left in his wrath

But if I choose to go on
down a path unknown
I may not have to feel the loneliness
and my heart may not turn to stone

Will I pass anyone on the way
to finding my soul again
That may possibly help me
and not keep me from what I want to attain

All I know is
that I don't want to turn back
And get caught in the darkness
until I can't figure out what I lack

The new path looks tempting
like it is calling me
Maybe someone is just yelling my name
or maybe I just really want to be free.

    another excellent poem, but again, i feel the is something missing from the end... but that may be a good tactic, too- it would leave people wanting more... but it was great, and you get a 5!

    good writing... until I can't figure out what I "lack" make the poem stop form some reason.. I think i you can change that it would make it much better.. I tried finding another word that would fit in but I could not think of one off the top of my head... keep up the good work..
