The Breaths of Life

by Renee   Jul 8, 2005

I inhale those memories
afraid to let go
So I hold my breath
because choking on my past
seems easier then exhaling the unknown into a cold world,
Where I'm unsure if theres enough air,
atleast enough for one more memory,
enough to make another past.
Afraid that each breath of the present I take may become my last.

    short but pretty incredible. lovely.

"Afraid that each breath of the present I take my become my last."

I think you mean "...I take MIGHT (or may) become my last"

    Anyways, I like it.
