Purity's Requiem

by Fabbon   Jul 8, 2005

Draped in white I hear your name, such a beacon of piercing radiance
Never should I be the same, post-enthrallment, such incandescence.
I pray for your hand near, such irrational fears
Manifest under mine blanket of indefinite safety- O such fears.
Your lips traipse past my ear muttering words I cannot hear-

I search your eyes for an answer but cannot see
For the white shroud conceals completely.
So thick these linens, so brash they feel.
Is there inside my love? My only? Concealed!
O how you make me feel. Frustration. In-consideration. My heart- obliteration!

My hands grasp tight your cloak of mystery
moments later this thing of beauty is history
and I am left staring blankly into you, my purity.
I sing, O how I sing my song of woe and worry.
So deep I throttle each note, rarely letting go.

I look upon your face, an ugly being.
One of trysts and lies and deceit- O such seething defeat
One who knew only games of high risk- A gambler, nothing more.
You hid so well in your blankets of white.
Therefore I sing Purity's Requiem.
