My Shooting Star

You came into my life, sweeping me off my feet,
shining and laughing, you made me happy and the world complete

Every smile and moment we shared seemed to light up the sky,
The ride with you was amazing and peaceful, your picture at night was my lullaby

Your eyes sparkled, illuminating all of life, you could always make me smile,
Little did I know our time together, could last only a little while

You started to fall away, my world once again was scary and black,
There was no way around it, you were gone and couldn't come back

But if I look closely, I see the streak of light you left behind,
All that you taught me, and how closely our lives will always be intertwined

You lit up the world for me, so no matter where you are,
Know that I'll always miss you, and you'll always be my shooting star.
