That Day

We met one night
at a football game
but little did I know
everything would change

At first, you were nothing
not even a friend
but time went on
and I had to think again

We got to talking
and our friendship grew
soon nothing mattered
but me and you

The day you asked me out
I was on cloud nine
there were butterflies in my stomach
at the though that you were mine

Now you're my world
and no one can take that away
isn't it ironic,
how everything changed after that day
