Caged Bird

by Weeping Wolf   Jul 9, 2005

Look out my window and make a decision
watch the free bird sing its life away
I wish to be free and sing as well.
but I'm trying to hang onto your love still

Memories of the young dwell within me
Of when us 3 were all together happy.
I was young i was actually in joy
To have parents that i felt loved me.

Now you too have broken pasts
and have separated your paths
leaving me at the fork in the road.
Where do i go when u turn your back to me?

Alone i stand in the middle of it all
I live with the blame and hating it all
Look up at the sky and curse god
Who is corrupted by power and ruins lives.

Ever Stray I stay i no longer need you
leave me be to wallow in my sorrow
Poetry, painting and sadness I love
Darkness and secrets keep me going on

But do not give me any strength to borrow
For i know by tomorrow you'll want it back
And then you'll leave me bleeding here
Weaker than i ever was before.

And now deceit and lies fill both your minds
Talk nonsense like children about each other
I'm listening but cant u see my ears hurt?
I'm seeing but why cant you see the tears?

She says "He wants wedding bells to ring"
He says "I have no clue what your talking bout"
I don't say a thing, not a word
though in my mind things are forming

One of you are lying
and neither is telling the truth
but i do not hesitate to think
"Why do i even trust them?"

I lost trust long ago
so let lies fly free
let hate come from your mouth
let malice fill your voice

I wont be their when those wedding bells ring
And don't expect me to be your flower girl either
For when you walk out the church
I'll walk opposite into the grave

For my heart cries woe leave me alone
You've replaced my emptiness with another
You just think I will learn to love them
I'm not gonna bother any longer to hide my anger

And when your love is finally taken away from me
Is there still a safe place to find life?
So let the caged bird mourn its life away
For the lost love of its parents has long been gone.
