Friend In London

by Sarah Ann   Jul 9, 2005

Yesterday was a nightmare
It was chaos around all day
Because bombs did go off
In a nice place far away

Innocent people traveling
Just as the night went by
Very little did they know
That soon they were to die

If war occurs in this world
This way is so very unfair
Innocent civilians smiling
And in a second so not there

The blame is on Al-Qaeda
But how could they be sure
It seems they are not satisfied
With only blood and gore

Why is everything corrupted?
We really need some change
Bush did not make things better
If it's not worse, it is the same

It is all not for their liberation
Our media deceives our mind
Money and oil is their target
It is a truth you should find

So why am I saying all this
Typing with tears on my face
For I have a friend in London
Who is lost without a trace

So many times I called there
No body answers her phone
And I wonder if she is okay
Or if she is out there all alone

I wonder if she died yesterday
If she was on that bus or train
She only went there this summer
And I may never see her again

Oh dear God, I am begging you
This prayer now here is for all
For all those families suffering
Whether the pain is big or small

I want everyone here to know
That my heart is on their side
It is during the hardest times
We should stand up in pride

Now I’m having a tough time
But I hope my friend is okay
And if I never hear from her
I will pray for her everyday

Hold hands for all the people
In London and everywhere else
For the reasons for corruption
Is only the devil within itself

I know this is the beginning
My fellow people be advised
For if it happens once again
Then I wouldn't be surprised
