Not A Dream

by Alyson Mary   Jul 9, 2005

I see you in my dreams.
I feel your cold hand pound hard against my cheek.
I look into your eyes, and for once in my life I see the memories of painstaking years gone by.
I think to myself, as tears sting my eyes, that I'm not the only one who has been hurt by these lies.
Thats all gone now because of the decision I mad, I killed you with one bullet because I needed a break.
I watched you die, until your last movement.
Then I strolled out the door knowing that no one would find out who did it.
And then I wake up and realize that I was dreaming.
I look up and see you.
I can hear you breathing.
I go to sit up and you push me back down.
The smile on your face turns into a frown.
You pull a gun out and put it to my skull.
The trigger goes off and my hopes and dreams fall.
The bullet cuts right through, but I wasn't there to see it,
because I was dead the minute I saw you.
