Life For Granted

by Lydie   Jul 10, 2005

I
Have
No
Energy,
For
They
Are
After
Me,

Black shadows,
Haunt me,
Possessed people,
Taunt me,

I run,
So fast,
And stop,
At last,

As I reach,
The dusty clearing,
Everyone near me,
I am fearing,

They come so,
Close to me,
I just want,
To be free,

They take it now,
As though it's nothing,
Now all I am,
Is trully, utterly struggling,

Struggling to keep balance,
Falling to the ground,
Laying here waiting endlessly,
Waiting to be found,

I can not get up,
The pain far beyond enough,
Those mean, awful, ugly people,
Are just way to tough,

Gasping for a breath of air,
I can feel myself fading quickly,
But now they crowd around everywhere,
I see the black now so thickly,

The red tears of mine,
Fall to the cold floor,
They hurt me, so now,
The pain I do endure,

The tears stream down fast,
Down my worn empty face,
Wishing someone would save me,
Take me from this place,

No-one can save me,
From people so insane,
From awful people that,
Leave me in pain,

It's weird to think,
I'm a child deprived,
Of love and life,
And that they survived,

So very close,
To the end,
Lot's of problems,
I didn't mend,

Tears stream faster,
Faster than before,
From a battle,
Of my war,

Battle, I,
Did try,
Soon enough,
I die,

Last gasp,
Of air,
They killed,
Without care,

Life
Taken
For
Granted,
Flower,
Soon
To
Be
Planted.

Very interesting. I like how it makes me think, and I also like how it's not full of cliches. You wrote a unique, good poem and I am proud of you. (I just finished critiquing a very very ununique poem and you wouldn't believe the relief I felt when I read your first stanza.)

Your poetry may not be the kind I would generally like, but it's still just as well written as my kind.

To say the forbidden words in the world of honest critiques, "Keep up the good work".
