A PERFECT WORLD

by Cassye   Jul 10, 2005

Wishing for a perfect world
Smiles on every face
Laughter echoing all around
Blue skies all day
Not a cloud in sight
Children playing hop scotch
Finding friends everywhere they go
Grassy hills in every direction
Peace throughout the world
Shooting stars light up the night
A perfect world
A perfect life
The perfect house
A white picket fence
The perfect dog
Does sweet little tricks
For sweet little treats
A perfect pink dress
with a little bow to go along
This is a perfect world
This is not our world
Raggedy old jeans
Hand me down shirts
Barking little dogs
Running around with everlasting energy
Fences in need of fixing
Houses always in need of something
A normal life
A normal world
Dark foggy nights
Bombs exchanged between countries
Hills plowed down
Replaced with big buildings
parents keeping a watchful eye
over children playing in the streets
Rainy cloudy dark skies
Sirens in the background
Scared looks from unfamiliar faces
A perfect world
No
A normal world
Our world

Good poem. I like the way you compared our world with a world that we all wish existed.
