State of mind.

by Wintersolstice   Jul 10, 2005

Discussing events that may take place 1 year in my future. When, after my final year of school, I may never see this guy again.

I can see, no-feel it coming
The painful inner explosion
That will surely destroy me
But put an end to my corrosion

Death will float in the air
Like suffer upon a breeze
You\'ll turn and walk away
And my heart will slowly freeze

Like a shadow blown by a storm
You will drift out of my life
And if this future comes to pass
Nothing will soothe my strife

I\'ll watch you go, then leave also
Go home, fall to my knees
Weep silently in my room
“Don’t’ let this be it, please”

I have devised an escape clause
I’ll self destruct my heart, using my head
If love is only a state of mind, then…
I’ll just imagine my love is dead.

This is nice - Im not normally a sucker for love poems ... BUT.. I actually really enjoyed this, it isnt another "Im so madly in love" poem and it doesnt portray things as perfect because thats not how things are. I admire your courage in writing something so close to you in a poem and allowing others to feel your pain and immerse themselves in it. I apologise that i cant give you any helpful critique but I couldnt really fault your work. Kp writing,
