I refuse to give in

by Roni   Jul 10, 2005

Nightmares haunt me each time I close my eyes
They’re either about you
Dying to cigarettes
Or dying by drunk driving.
Each way I lose you to something
Not natural, but by something you caused!
I cry each time I see you
Not on the outside but deep
Inside my heart
I refuse to listen to the words that people
Say about you.
I wish you would get better
I know you will
Wishing is one thing
And life is another
I refuse to lose
You to some thing
You can get better from,
With the help your family
Wants to give you
Each time you push us away
You get worse each and every day
You are the one
I am close to
In many strange ways
You are the one
I don’t want to lose
You are my grandfather
Who gave me
A lot of knowledge
That I will use one
Day in my life
So I refuse to
Face reality
Reality that will
Most likely hurt my
heart and soul
