Dusty Human

Dusty Human

Society doesn't recognize, every living human being
or the solitude that they live in, with every waking breath

Instead we place certain people on pedastools
and others on a shelf
where they sit, lonely and broken
with no one for company but theirself

Alone is an insignificant word,
until it applies to you
Lonesome is just another feeling
until it inhabits your soul

So why then, I must ask
do we have so many dusty humans?
longing to be taken off the shelf,
and taken into the arms of another

Dust

you don't normally apply it as a human characteristic
until you are on the shelf- and yearning to be set free

how long does it take to become a dusty human, you ask?
as long as it takes for the world to find someone else,
to place on its pedastool.
