Summer left this broken shore,
And returned to something that promises more,
It just packed and ran away,
And in came winter soon to stay.
I stood here on this beach,
And watch summer days fade beyond my reach.
I wanted to go with summer and just get out,
But then I would wonder if you came back I would be left in doubt,
But summer faded and you did not return,
And my heart was left here in the cold to freeze not burn.
