The Tale Of Tears

Who would have known that one crystalline tear could tell such a terrible tale

Of an unwanted girl who battled the world, hoping that she would prevail

What she discovered is that you cant win, when no one is helping you through

She had no Allies, she had no Friends, so her sadness and loneliness grew

She was alone in a self contained world, trapped in her own messed up mind

Thinking about her mum and dad, and how they had been so unkind

They did not love her, they told her each day, that she had been a mistake

So now every night when she should be asleep, these memories keep her awake

Sometimes she contemplated death, but never as more than a thought

The desire she had to not be alive, was a feeling she sensibly fought

At times she wondered what she'd done, to deserve the life that she had

"Why can't i be somebody else, whose life isn't quite so bad?"

She knows theres no hope, so she sits and cries the tears that tell a tale

Of an unwanted girl who battles the world, hoping she'll someday prevail
