My Love

by Ariel   Jul 11, 2005

I will always remember the day we met.
We were both soaking wet.

We were walking home in the rain.
And both in a lot of pain.

Your mom died that day.
I didn't know what to say.

I hugged you a very long time.
I wanted you to be mine.

We both stood out in the cold.
All our secrets, we both told.

We vowed to be together, through anything.
Happiness to each other is what we would bring.

Then a few weeks later we broke up.
We decided, enough is enough.

But now I'm thinking, maybe.
Were we meant to be?

I want to try it one more time.
Maybe it will work, and you will be mine.

Please try it just for me.
Because this love still exists, I can see.

I love you with all my heart.
And of my life, you will always be a part.

This is a poem about an ex named Jess, his mom's funeral was on his birthday, and on our anniversary. I still love him but he seems to have moved on and I'm okay with that. He deserves to be happy. He was orphaned at age 14, so his life has been kind of rough. Jess, if your reading this, I love you and I want you to be happy.
