Deadly Water (story)

by ...:NiKi:...   Jul 11, 2005

She stood on a rock,
below a peaceful waterfall.
And thought of how the boy she loved may never know.
That he would never love her,
and her heart would shatter.
As she stepped closer to the falls to feel its' mist,
her foot slipped and she slowly tumbled into the cold, murky water.
She tried to grab the rock, but it was too slippery.
The rapids pulled and pushed her weak body through the rocky river.
When she came to the surface and tried to catch her breath,
she saw his face, and tried to reach for his hand that she thought was there.
The water pulled her under again,
and when she finally broke through the surface,
he wasn't there.
She cried out with anger,
knowing she would be gone soon.
And that he would never know of how she felt.
The rapids pulled her under yet again,
but this time, she was too weak to fight it any longer.
A few days later her body was found,
cold and limp, near the shore.
As they searched her for a reason for her death,
they found a piece of paper with words on it.
It was then that they figured out she let herself drown because she couldn't tell her true love how she really felt about him.
