World

People, surrounded by so much pain and hate
Leaving nothing to chance, taking risks with fate
Guns blaze and bombs fall, the earth wrapped in fights
Little children swathed in rags, in this next lonely night

Pilgrims, through the ghettos, where one peace reigned
Fear in their eyes, the real world unknown and feigned
Walking a steady road, kids stuck in ruts of suicide
Drugs killing off the little bit of sanity left inside

Have you seen the lady, selling her body to time
For what, a bit of money, a chance to live without a mind
Dignity destroyed, hooker, slag, could be a mother
One more one lost, soon her child to be another

Dreams shattered, hopes lost, wanting to be famous
Hopes lost as they fail, but why do failures entertain us?
Watch on the news, another terrorist mutilation
Butchery performed on shaky grounds, discrimination

Hatred sparks, attack after attack all through the day
Black, white, whats the difference? straight or gay?
Whispers and comments, watch the fires burn
Thieves lie in wait for the victim, lose all respect once earned

Cold winters settle in, killing of the ones without homes
Do you pass them by, no money, ignore the moans
Clear concience as they shiver, drinking to forget
Lost in the dirty clothes, freezing cold, broken and wet

The world keeps spinning, one more direction
Another few decades of hate and deception
Perfect lives for some, while others in poverty and pain
But the fantasy will burn when we fall to reality again
