Fallen Angel

by Alex   Jul 12, 2005

Fallen angel, bound and broken
Waiting for those words once spoken
Sitting in silence, consumed by darkness
Waiting for a once gentle hand, now heartless

Fallen angel, bruised and torn
Holding onto lost dreams, she’s worn
Tired and weak, though she will remain
Resting in the shadows again

Fallen angel, bleeding and scarred
Heart stolen, her life is lone and hard
Inside she is slowly torn apart
Nothing is left of her but a shattered heart

Fallen angel, turn up your gaze
No ray of light to brighten this haze
So many things that will not heal
None could tell the pain within that she feels

Fallen angel, close your eyes
She cannot wait for this life to pass by
Each breath to her does cost
Life’s precious seconds, of many lost

Fallen angel, cradled in the dark
Agony on her has left its scornful mark
A single tear of blood runs down her cheek
In her hand, she holds an object sharp and sleek

Fallen angel, wracked with this guilt
Like a dark shadow, on her emotion it is built
One last slice to end this tonight
A whisper of thank you to her salvation, her knife

Fallen angel, a statue frozen in the grasp of pain
Skin like marble, withstanding the snow and rain
Cold from the concrete that runs through her veins
There is nothing left to lose or gain

Fallen angel, fears and worries are diminished
Lift these broken wings and your troubles are finished
Laid to rest in a winter meadow
Fallen angel, you are immovable stone and shadow
