The Train (part 2)

by Kane Burden   Jul 12, 2005

Just a few seconds later,
a sudden flash, then a tremendous explosion.
Buckling doors, glass and the sound of a thousand thoughts, rushing through my mind
Tremendous heat, breathing down my skin,
tearing off my shirt, and scalding me below.
My eyes closed, but i could still hear the screaming,
lost all forms of control, my feet giving way beneath me,
and something terribly heavy landing on top,
burying me in a subconsciousness, but the pain still burning.
Time seems meaningless, priority is the pain.
People all over the place, it no longer looked like a train.
glass all over the place, and people destroying the windows intact
A dark smog hanging over me,
and my foe lying beneath consuming me in darkness.
People beginning to move,
leaving me behind, silence is killing me,
unable to get up
I turn my head slightly,
and find a man on top of me,
his forehead no longer gleaming, but decaying instead.
The others are leaving, doors opening towards the back,
i open my mouth and try to scream,
but nothing seems to come out.
Unable to cry, though crying inside, my lips are turning blue,
my feet are cold as ice.
The sound of fear, is followed by the nightmare
vermin rushing into the cart, tearing at the flesh around them.
i lay my face down on the ground, and close my eyes again.
A life, a nation that stood tall and proud, now creeps into darkness dying.
