Does the lord still care?

by leonel calderon   Jul 12, 2005

As I walk these streets that filled with misery.
I wonder does the Lord still care,
maybe only for the ones that buried in the cemetery.
But still I pray for `em better days.
Even through I lost a lot faith seeing my people act this way.
On the blocks I'm hearing children praying safe day at school.
And a safe way back home on the route that is trouble by `em gang fools.
Does the Lord still care for the kid that left her baby in the trash?
Will the Lord bring his hand down to save Johnny before his throat gets slash?
I don't understand why victims of the waters had to die.
Got me questioning you again, Lord, with the things I've seen with my eyes.
I'm kicking up dust.
Lost in the maze because I don't know who to trust.
Dazed and confused when I'm given pains, trying to deal with this stress.
Getting worried, as tears drop on my shoes for the child murder on the street.
She was six years old, not even grown as I watch her brown skin turn casper's white.
I can't help it to hate my own people for their actions.
Blaming `em for my frustration.
And I can't help to wonder why so few care about what happen in the past.
Seems like the racists care the most.
Naw I shouldn't think like that, when I know damn well that isn't true.
Wide eye as misery destroys my mind right in front of you.
As I look up to the sky and ask do you still care about us, Lord?

I'm so sorry that you feel this way. The Lord is still here for us, no matter what. I know it doesn't seem like that sometimes, but he really is. Just think that when people die, they are in a better place with God and they don't have to suffer any more. I don't know what else to tell you, but that it's normal to question the Lord, and that I hope you regain some of your faith. Take care and God bless.
