Cutting is the Best

You don’t know how good it feels
Or how it takes away my pain
All you know is for the past four years
It’s been the only thing keeping me sane.

You don’t know the adrenaline it brings
Sending shivers of joy all down my spine
So I don’t know why you even worry
This problem is only mine.

When I press it to my skin
I feel like everything will be okay
All I have to do is press down and slide
As the blood comes, the pain goes away.

“If you love me, you won’t do it”
That’s what everyone keeps saying
But I take the consequences for my actions
Its not like they’re the ones who are paying.

Sooner or later, my body will grow numb
And the blood will stop its flow
My every lasting tears will stop falling
And all my pain will go.

I fear that time is later though
So for now, I’ll take second best
Though drinking and smoking and popping all work
For me, cutting is the best.
