I know what you mean with this poem, my friend, knew I fancy this girl back in college days and he decided to race in, and they ended up dating each other. I became the audience. Simplicity at it's best, such a touching message is brought to the reader. Some of the best poems need not be complicated to express what the writer is trying to convey. Good write.
