Rays of Sunlight

The dark place I’ve lived in
Locked away from view
Is collecting in some sunshine
And it’s a feeling so brand new

It’s made it’s way through my clouds
And my everlasting rain
Dried up all my tear drops
And blinded all my pain

It’s surrounded all my body
Filling my mind and heart
Putting all my broken pieces
Together in one whole part

It’s battled my depression
And now it’s won the war
But trust me, it does burn
I’ve never felt like this before

This feeling so uplifting
That only happy tears now fall
Knowing someone’s there to catch me
And help me through it all

And to think that all this happened
After a simple kiss goodnight
And now I can bathe happily
In my loving rays of sunlight
