That Knock on the Front Door....

by Megan   Jul 13, 2005

You dread the day you
Get that knock on
Your front door...
When it comes it's like
Your heart just stops...

At first you cant breath
Then you can’t stand
You scream in horror
As your world falls apart...

It seems like every
Minute is a lifetime
It's just to much
For you to take in
Your breaking down...

You tell yourself...
At least he died
Defending his country...
At least he died
Doing what he felt
He had to do...
At least he died
In honor...
At least he's in
A better place

You go to his funeral
Ceremony with your
Head held high as
You say a few words
In his honor and
Listen closely as
His comrade’s talk
About his last days

You dread the day
You get that knock
At your front door...
But at least you
Take it in honor...
You dread that day...
