We Shall See the Light

by Michael D Nalley   Jul 13, 2005

We all shall see the light when the day is done
Many moons have past as we race around the sun
Truth forever burning while the world is turning
All of the teachers teach as they are yet learning

A dark night is but a shadow of a wicked earth
A day is only a fraction of a heavenly birth
Knowledge of good and evil seems so incomplete
It has been written that heaven and earth shall meet

The truth may hide in the day what can be seen at night
But the day can’t hide the truth that is always in sight
The darkness may reject what heavenly bodies reflect
Emptiness has nothing to lose nothing to protect

The darkness says to the light I have no need of you
The light says to the darkness I know that this is true
The night says to the day I am but a shadow of the earth
The day says to the night the sun is all I am worth

As many open eyes have seen and cried
As many a babe has been born and died
Death is but a shadow of a day that is done
All shall see the light God bless everyone
