Music Box

by Weeping Wolf   Jul 13, 2005

Music box, sweet melodies
Wined you up and there you go
Again
Singing away all my pain.

Music box, softly playing
let your song never fade
Give me faith to last the night
Give me strength to give in

I still remember the words
From long long ago
Whisper them softly now,
letting all the hidden hope sink in

It seems so far away
The memories this made
Me and grandma together
Sitting listening in her rocking chair

Humming quietly these songs
Living in sweet surrender
If only the times could last forever
yet only the music box lives on

Music box, so old and worn
You seem to last till eternity
"Its an everlasting music box"
Grandma said
Will you still play when all the rest of us are dead?

As much as I loved it the first time, I enjoyed listening to you read it an infinite amount more... :)

a nice twist to the ending- it's a shame no one has really read this, but no one really pays attention to any poems unless they are in the dark, sad, or love section. but i'm glad i read this one, because it's great! take care
