When Will The Soldiers Come Home?

by Muppet   Jul 14, 2005

Dawning has broken to whispering sound,
It’s coming from all over town,
Filling the streets like a waterfall’s foam;
“When will the soldiers come home?”

Daylight is broad, and the shadows are small,
And silence has taken them all;
Every man frowning and scratching his neck;
“When will the soldiers come back?”

Evening is near, and the shadows are long;
The anguish is painfully strong.
Still they are thinking: “They must be alive!
When will the soldiers arrive?”

The sunset is coming, with darkness and fog,
And the mournful howl of a dog;
The western horizon may shimmer and burn,
But the soldiers will never return.

my bro wrote this poem, and i thought it was really nice, so i asked him if i could put it in here, and he said yes..
please leave comments on my poems, would love to know what people think of them=) take care everybody..
