Rock Star

Listening to my nervousness
"I'm comfortable staying backstage"
A cold hand forms on my shoulders
whispering an icy breath "don't be afraid."

My worn out chucks brave the first step,
the rips in my jeans feel the breeze from their screams.
my jacket traps the humidity
this is harder then it seemed.

I make my way to the rusty microphone
The guitarist starts strumming behind me
the drums speak to match my heart beat,
and the piano begins its enchanting melody.

I let out a smooth scream...
and the words just seem to find themselves.
I hold on to the mic like a dream,
The only thing that keeps me myself.

"I sing you out of my heart,
I get you out of my mind.
Just like I fell in love with your voice,
I'm gonna MAKE you hear mine."

Stuck in my own oblivion
listening to the crowd recite my own words.
chanting my most haunting memories,
that I thought would never be heard.

This is the best so far. I heart how you describe everything, I heart the image you painted in my head.

I can actually imagine the screams of the crowd and the beating of her heart. Very nicely done, M'dear. =)

My favourite lines were actually the whole poem.
