Our Journey Through The Depths Of Love

We met late on a summer afternoon
Thanks to a close friend of mine
What was just another day in June
Was the beginning of something divine

Everything seemed to fit hand in hand
And a strong bond began to grow
What started out as unplanned
Was nothing compared to the months that followed

We fell for each other mutually
But you never gave me a chance
You wanted to be free
And didn't give me a second glance

We still felt the same
But went our separate ways
As for me, I felt no shame
For our fire of love was ablaze

We dated other people
But still you were on my mind
I waited and waited, hopeful
Then our love struck you blind

After over a year of friendship
You opened your heart to me
You wanted to try a relationship
And I agreed happily

We went on strong for a week or so
Then fate dropped in for a visit
Her stepping in was a lot to swallow
And I had to bite the bullet

After a month of separation
We took each other back
We still had everything in common
And trust we did not lack

Issues came up more than once
But we still didn't stop trying
Everything kept its balance
Until came the lying

Four months and 9 days down the drain
Secrets and lies began to arise
Words can't describe my pain
Or my hurtful cries

One day I will forgive,
But never shall I forget
My life I must continue to live
And live it without regret.
