Suicidal Creature

by Jacklyn   Jul 15, 2005

Night sunk into the house,
Seeping though windows into tired eyes,
The blackness and odd silence,
A little kids mind wonders into fright,
As they slowly do their nightly chores,

He watched, unnoticed peering through.
He waited in the darkness,
In the corner of her room,
Not human or monster closet,
But he holds her fear and watches close,

She’d rather face her under the bed monster,
Then this animal who seems to haunt her.
Her parents turn on the light as she crawls in bed,
A kiss goodnight, an I love you exchange,
They tucked her in and turned off the light,

Leaving her in peer darkness,
Leaving her with him.
He crawls low upon the carpet,
Creeps slowly up her bedpost.
Still unnoticed as she drifts to dreams,

Mouth open wide, eyes closed for the night.
He slightly wonders her innocent face,
He began his walk to death,
As his eight legs crawl through her mouth and throat,
The nightly suicidal creature in the world.

Tim i'm not sure what you find misleading so i'll take a guess.

"She’d rather face her under the bed monster,Then this animal who seems to haunt her" if you think this sounds misleading well some kids fear spiders and to me it seems that little girls fear them the most. so i thought maybe she feared them so much she rather see other monsters then a spider, hope this clears things up.

    "Not human or monster closet,
But he holds her fear and watches close"
again she fears spiders so he holds her fear, spiders aren't monsters or human which is kind of a little clue on of what this thing is and he watches close because they have a lot of eyes.

~sorry i didn't have much time to explain this better but hopefully this helps explains my lines.

Wel, I must say it's a good poem, but it's kinda misleading here and there. great work.
