Alive

I am alive...
I found out here today
When my friend wrote me a poem
Saying here in life, didn't want to stay

The hurt built up inside
Before I knew it I was in tears
Thinking how much she means to me
Imagining all my fears

I wish I hadn't read the poem
Kept the page closed tight
Or held in all my tears
And cared with all my might

Instead I found myself
In anger and in fear
Not being able to look at you
Or holding you so dear

For the first time I was ashamed
Although inside just so scared
That one day my angel wont be there
And know how much I cared...
