The sun rises

by katie!   Jul 16, 2005

The sun rises into the beautiful sky, I shelter from its rays
Underneath the long and twisted branches of the trees
Sweet little memories entwine themselves within my heart
The leaves whisper gently, you love me

The moon casts light upon the cracked, parched desert
An oasis of beautiful romance entices you
Your beauty reflects in the cool waters of past
The sky sofly sighs, I love you so much too

The stars radiate silently in the midnight sky
Calling me deep into the crimson seas of time
Your words, stay with me, long hours after you depart
Engraved deep upon my heart, and locked within my mind

The sycamore trees sway gently in the breeze
Unfolding sweet kisses in the shelter of the shadows
I miss you like the sky misses the sun in the evening
Holding you in my arms as the minutes flow

The birds sing quietly in the streets and avenues
Waking up without a lover by their side
The river weaves as your laughter echoes in my ears
Searching for a place where a dreamer can hide

Nature comes to a standstill, and thunder rages
Dreamt of holding you close, safe in my arms
Just us two together, like the stars in the sky
Protect you from hatred, hurt, from harm

I love you

Wow I don't know what to say this is a creative well worded love poem! I really loved the 3rd stanza!
This one line from stanza 2 "The sky sofly sighs, I love you so much too" there is something about it that I think takes away from the flow and I just can't pin point it. Hey maybe it's just me! Anyways, you did an amazing job your poetry gets better with every poem I read. It was nice to read a love poem different from the norm. Keep it up! ~Brooke~
